“Vocero is about truthtelling – about telling your truth.
Sharing it. Amplifying it. Repeating it.”
For many projects, initiatives, and organizations, there is no audience more important than policymakers at all levels of government. We have many years of experience and expertise in working collaboratively with federal, state, and local government leaders across the political spectrum.
Attention spans are short these days. People want to be told everything they need to know as concisely and quickly as possible. Our team specializes in delivering powerful messages that penetrate across diverse audiences and in supporting communications teams during times of crisis.
Whether you’re a Fortune 500 company or a small non-profit, effectively communicating your contributions to the environment has become a requirement. Rising generations of consumers, employees, and voters are demanding climate action now. In the climate space we have vast experience in designing policy, working with lawmakers, building bridges between opposing interests, and advising industry and non-profit leaders.
If you have something to say, we’ll get you in front of the cameras. While social media is a powerful tool, traditional earned media still matters and provides important third party validation to products and initiatives. Over the course of many years we have represented brands, organizations, and ideas on national and local media outlets.
Increasingly, business executives are expected to lead beyond their corporations and organizations – some are compelled to by circumstance and face the challenge of turning crisis into opportunity. We will amplify your voice and build partnerships with the individuals, organizations, and other key stakeholders that can help you make a difference beyond the board room.
Successful political campaigns require focus, discipline, and a compelling message. Over the years we have built and integrated with leadership teams designed to manage the offices of elected officials and those seeking public office. Our work includes identifying and developing talented and trustworthy leaders, building key partnerships, and establishing a clear vision for success.
Carlos Curbelo was born in Miami, Florida in 1980, to political refugees who fled tyranny and oppression in Cuba. He was educated in the public school system and then at Belen Jesuit. In 1998 he enrolled at the University of Miami where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration while majoring in Political Science. He later returned to UM to earn a Masters in Public Administration.
In 2002, Carlos founded a public and media relations firm which he led successfully for 12 years. In 2010, he was elected to represent his community on the Miami-Dade County School Board, and in 2014 he was elected to Congress where he served until January of 2019. In Congress Carlos was consistently ranked one of the most bipartisan Members of Congress and led on difficult issues like climate policy, immigration, gun reform, and tax policy. He was also a prominent voice in international affairs and chaired the House’s Brazil Caucus. In 2017, Curbelo was honored by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation with the New Frontier Award for his work promoting bipartisan cooperation on environmental policy.

Jean-Paul Chavez was born in Miami in 1983, to a Cuban-American Family which fled the island in the early 1960s. He graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and then enrolled at Florida International University where he earned a Bachelors in Science in 2005, majoring in biology and minoring in psychology. He was then accepted into the University of Maryland’s School of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. For nearly a decade JP practiced as a dentist in South Florida.
In 2015 , JP ventured into the public square for the first time as a volunteer advocate for the American Dental Association. Through this work he discovered an interest in policy-making and public affairs. He deepened his involvement and eventually joined Florida Congressman Carlos Curbelo’s senior staff team. In addition to becoming a trusted advisor JP spent a lot of time building coalitions and developing a network of civic and business leaders who were called upon to weigh-in on key policy questions in the areas of healthcare, taxes, the environment, immigration, and cannabis reform. He also led fundraising efforts for the 2018 reelection campaign which broke all previous records.
At Vocero, JP leads business-to-business initiatives, manages client relations, and is responsible for the development of strategic partnerships with other firms and organizations. He has also done work as a surrogate on local and national media outlets.
JP lives in Miami’s southwest suburbs with his wife Katie and three children Cecilia, Julian, and Paulina.
